mutual aid
the voluntary and reciprocal exchange of resources and services between people for mutual benefit
the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020 has highlighted for us once again the corruption of the U.S. government, which has not provided adequate healthcare to its citizens during this or any other time. the government has decided against providing effective relief to Americans, despite record-setting levels of unemployment, number of households at risk of eviction, children who've been unable to eat from school food programs while quarantined, and so much more.
this page is a just another humble attempt to provide a list of resources available to Californians living through this pandemic and through, apparently, the collapse of the ever-corrupt United States empire.
it is imperative that we continue to support the existing mutual aid resources that grassroots organizers have been maintaining for decades, as well as encourage one another to come up with additional modes of exchanging care and compassion with our communities.
resources are organized into five categories, listed below.
at the end, you will see a list of mutual aid networks statewide.
« if you're thinking of innovating/establishing something in your area, feel free to check out this article on how to keep your community safe while organizing. »
